The Chappaqua Youth Soccer Club (“CYSC” or the “Club”) traces its origins to the mid- 1980s. Originally, separate and independent Chappaqua organizations developed travel teams to play in the East Hudson Youth Soccer League (“EHYSL”) and the Westchester Youth Soccer League (“WYSL”). At their height, each organization supported only a handful of teams. In 2001, CYSC was created to bring both organizations together. Now, on an annual basis, CYSC has close to five hundred (500) players spread across thirty (32) teams, ranging from third grade students to seniors at Horace Greeley High School (“HGHS”).

The Club strives to operate in cooperation with the Town of New Castle Parks and Recreation Department (the “Recreation Department”), Chappaqua AYSO and the athletic programs of the Chappaqua School District, including the  integration of the Club’s programs with the HGHS programs. Additionally, the Club sponsors soccer camps and coach and referee certification courses, makes its equipment and other resources available to the Chappaqua community and promotes athletic development and sportsmanship for children and young adults through a variety of innovative programs.

The Club is a nonprofit corporation organized and administered by Chappaqua parents. CYSC selects, organizes and regulates boys’ and girls’ soccer teams to play in youth soccer leagues and tournaments, and selects the coaches of such teams. In 2014-2015, all travel teams are registered in WYSL, a regional component US Club Soccer, and the United States Youth Soccer Association (“USYSA”). The USYSA is a youth affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation, an organization designated by an Act of Congress as the governing body for soccer in the United States.
